A West Highland terrier mid-bark, assembled from thousands of torn paper fragments in silver and slate.
About the work
Built entirely from hand-torn paper — magazine stock, book pages and hand-painted sheets — layered and varnished onto board. Step close and the picture dissolves into fragments; step back and the dog snaps into focus, ears up and one paw raised.
The restricted palette of silver, slate and off-white keeps the energy in the marks rather than the colour, which is what lets the piece sit comfortably in a room that already has a lot going on.
Set in a slim brushed-gold frame under museum glass. Signed in the lower left corner in the artist's characteristic yellow.
Availability, viewing in person, or a similar commission.
